connecticut. Most of the salesmen
I talk to for various industries are all suffering from lousey sales. My
friends that work in manufacturing are getting laid off or working 4 days.
One fellow said he was working 10 to 12 hours a day 6 days a week because
of
a large surge in orders. They make crucibles at a factory that has been in
the next town since I can remember and I am 55. I think the name is *****
refactory. Anyway when I asked why business is so good he told me the
company
was closing in October and moving its manufacturing to Brazil where they
already have a new factory. But why all the orders now? Well it seems that
all the customers find the product from brazil as inferior and they are
stocking up on what they need from the north haven plant.
I recently returned my leased 99 blazer to the dealer in fine shape and
under the allotted miles. That was June 4 and I just called to see where
my
$350 security deposit was. Well the lady said my vehicle was returned in
fine
condition and I was getting my $350 back but it could take 6 to 10 weeks
because ** waits till they sell it at auction and close it out. I told her
I
did not care what they did with the car after I returned it and I should
get
my deposit back promptly and I will think twice before I lease another car
from them. This of course rang a loud bell in my head and I figure they
have
cash flow and profit problems. I also did not get my rebate of $75 from
Dell
yet on a lap top I bought for one of my daughters and that was delivered
on
May 23.
Someone I know in the next town sold their house because the taxes in
that town were getting ridiculous but they sold it under the condition
that
they could get another house in a different town within a resonable time.
They found out they could not afford to move up and had to withdraw from
the
contract and stay put. House prices are nuts around here and the new ones
are
made with some pretty cheap components but a lot of young people dont
realize
this and go head first with the help of crazy financing from banks because
of
the bubble that freddie and fannie have built.
