observations from the Boston area if you are interested:

> * There has been a sharp increase in "HOUSE FOR SALE" signs posted in
front
> yards over the past year, mostly suburban and about 10% "BY OWNER".
>
> * A local shopping complex has about 30% more vacant retail space than
last
> year, but a "Target" and "Home Depot" have just moved in.
>
> * I notice people in store check out lines using credit cards for $3 and
$4
> purchases.
>
> * Everybody seems to be driving a new car or truck (???) and are just as
> rude as they were before 9/11.
