Gunman Goes Batty!

CNN was reporting earlier this morning that 14 people have been killed and 50 wounded at a theater’s early run overnight of the newe Batman movie.  What makes this story particularly bizarre is that it takes place less than 15-miles from Columbine, scene of another crazed shooter case where 13 were killed and 23 were wounded.

Wonder what’s in the water up that-a-way?  And odd coincidence here, or not:  This is 13 years and 3 months after Columbine.  To the day!

By some reckonings, the stock market is at a major inflection point – and we wonder about the timing of such a horrific event, since there are some who point to mass murders like this as a “pressure relief valve” of sorts which removed emotional energy…no telling.

IMF Dissed

Not like we’ve been particularly impressed with the International Monetary Fund’s behaviors in the past, but when one of their own turns on them, we take note.  The case today involves former IMF economist Peter Doyle who has some very uncomplimentary things to say about the outfit.

And speaking of Chris Legarde – the recently appointed IMF chief, there’s a scandal involving her popping in France where trading political favors for high national honors is alleged.

Gee: Care to look surprised?  Wonder if Nick every found the kid a job?

The Pain in Spain

Rubber bullets fall like rain on the sane as the PTB disdain what’s plain in the lane: Bailout’s no gain.

(sorry, couldn’t help myself)

NYC: Reality Arrives

Not that we’re happy to see it, but unemployment in the big apple is now in the 10% range.  Not that the PTB will notice, except less crowded for lunch, maybe?

Whooping It Up

CDC is not amused by whooping cough which is starting to spread in epidemic ways, and it’s feared, could hit 1959 outbreak levels.

Syria: Leaky Border BS

A report out this morning says more than 30,000 Syrians have crossed into Lebanon due to fighting.

Should we see if we can get some Mexican human traffickers to head over that way to give ‘em some pointers?  Why, that’s less than 2-10th’s of one percent crossing over.

With 11+ million Mexican nationals in the US illegally, about 10% of the country’s population,  I’m having a hard time getting all worked up over 30,000 sauntering into Lebanon, know what I mean?

Syrian rebels (which have plenty of Western-supplied horsepower) have seized a numberf of border crossings.  Maybe they have Mexican copyotes advising or perhaps (hamstrung)  Border Patrol management.  Can’t see from here.

Nevertheless, China and Russia have vetoed further sanctions, so this will end up in the round rotating device and will likely smell worse in coming weeks.  Don’t take the other side of that bet.

More after this…
